FedSmith.com links to Lobo-bonuses story, offers salary search
FedSmith.com, an information portal for sources of information impacting the federal community, has posted a summary of the BBG Watch report, “Leader of federal agency with lowest leadership ratings justifies cash awards for executives,” giving the article about the International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB) Director Richard Lobo’s faulty logic hundreds of views on BBGWatch.com.
IBB is part of the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), which oversees U.S. international broadcasting operations, including the Voice of America (VOA). In the most recent Office of Personnel Management (OPM) employee satisfaction survey, officially known as the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey, the Broadcasting Board of Governors scored 37th of 37 on leadership and knowledgeable management. Richard M. Lobo, who was appointed by President Obama, operates a bureaucracy and technical services as an extension of the Broadcasting Board of Governors in its oversight of U.S. international broadcasting.
Since its launch four months ago, the BBGWatch.com independent website, which managed by former and current BBG employees, has had over 100,000 hits.
One of the most viewed has been the BBG Watch report “BBG’s Victor Ashe raises employee morale issues,” about the efforts of Broadcasting Board Governor Victor Ashe’s campaign to reform management practices at the BBG. So far, most of the other members of the Board (four Democrats and four Republicans plus Secretary of State Hillary Clinton) are distancing themselves from Ashe. Ashe is also facing hostility from the BBG and IBB permanent executive staff.
In addition to reports on federal employment issues, FedSmith.com offers access to a database which allows searches of salaries of federal employees.
BBG Watch also has a link to another database which allows for searches of cash awards.
